We would like to inform parents of the following school closures coming up in February.
Sat 6th February is a date we will never forget. We preformed in the R.D.S in front of 7,500 people. The night turned out to be better than we imagined. The stage was massive. The crowd was huge and we all felt a little nervous at the beginning.
Once the singing started all the nerves went away.Greg Beardsell was our conductor and he made us feel very confident. Having the Cross Border Orchestra playing the music was very special. One of the highlights of the night was during the song Imagine (See Below) the people in the audience put on the lights on their phones as we were singing. Our parents ,families and friends who came to see us singing all really enjoyed the show. DVD' s of the show have been ordered and we look forward to watching it when it arrives. For now we have the memories of a brilliant night and we look forward to doing it all again next year. See a below couple of short video clips that we found on Twitter capturing some of the magic of the night.
Grandparents Day was celebrated in a very special way in the school on Wednesday 3rd February. Mrs Clinton and Mrs Fleming organised a Willow Tree for the school and on it were placed the names of all the Grannys and Grandads of Scoil Na Mainistreach. Below are pictures of Ms Roche's Class as the gathered to say a special prayer for their Grannys and Grandads.
There is still a lot of money outstanding for Arts and Crafts etc. Could you please forward this to the school at your earliest convenience. We thank you for your co-operation with this matter.
We would like to thank a former parent of the school for their very generous donation of a Pool Table. We would also like to thank for James from Celbridge Snooker Club for donating pool cues and chalk. The boys will have great fun!!
The Peace Proms Concert will take place on Saturday 6th February in the R.D.S. at 8pm. Tickets are still available from www.peaceproms.com. The concert should be over by 10.20pm.
The teachers and children will be travelling by bus. We need the boys to be at the school at 4.15pm as we have a rehearsal before the performance. The buses will return to the school after the show and the children can be collected from there. We hope to be back at the school by 11.30pm. The children will have a break between the rehearsal and the performance. They will need to bring something to eat and drink. everything brought needs to be disposable so nothing of value gets lost. We would ask all children to wear a plain white t-shirt and dark trousers and to bring a pair of sunglasses if they can. Thank so much for all your help and co-operation, hopefully the Peace Proms will be a wonderful experience for all the children (and the audience) If you have not returned the permission slip for Saturday, please do so by Friday. |
