The boys in 6th Class have been participating in the Junior Entrepreneur Programme this year. The Junior Entrepreneur Programme (JEP) is an entrepreneurial awareness and skills enhancement programme for Primary School children, created & developed in Ireland! The pragrame aims to help children recognise enterprise and entrepreneurship and to foster an awareness and understanding of the entrepreneurs role in the community therefore empowering the child to start to think and act with the initiative, creativity, independence and ideas that are invaluable in the modern world. As a result of their involvement with the JEP, the boys in 6th Class have set up their own companies and are selling three different products: Ms. Holmes’ Class: Customised Mugs Mr. Minnock’s Class: Drawstring Bags Mr. Mulreid’s Class: Drinks Bottles They are having their Showcase Day tomorrow, Tuesday March 28th in the Library in Scoil na Mainistreach, from 9:00am – 11:00am. They are inviting the public tomorrow, in particular parents and all members of the school community, to come along and to have a look at their wonderful products and to support their business endeavours! Our Spring Concert "Reeling in the Decades" will take place at 7pm on:
Tuesday 4th April - Senior Infants, 2nd, 3rd & 6th. Wednesday 5th April - Junior Infants, 1st, 4th & 5th. €7 Adult €5 Children €12 for Adults attending shows on both nights. Tickets are now available from the office. Despite the weather, there was a great turnout of boys and parents to walk with the school for the parade. On behalf of Parents Association, a big thank you to all the boys and their families that walked in parade. The school got a great reception from the crowds and some lovely words said about the school and boys at the judges stand so well done to them all.
I would like to thank Sharon and all involved for making it a great day for everyone. The 3 sixth classes have been busy since the start of the year taking part in the Junior Entrepreneur Programme (JEP). The 3 classes have set up their own businesses (Back Bags, H2go and Cool Cups) . The boys are selling their products at the moment and will be looking for support from other boys in the school. The products on sale are
This year Ms. Holmes 6th class are selling Cool Cups for our JEP. So far we sold many cups and are really working together as a team. Cool Cups are cups that can be customized and you can get anything you want on them. The Easter cups cost €3.50, The Personalized cups cost €4.50 and until Monday we are selling Mothers Day Cups which cost €3.50.If you wish to purchase one for your son or a friend fill out the form and hand it up to Ms. Holmes with the money and the sheet. If you don't have a form please ask your son to get one from Ms. Holmes. Hopefully you will purchase one.

The school will be closed on Friday 17th March for St. Patrick's Day.
The Penitential Service of Light (First Confession) for our second classes will take place at 5.30pm in St. Patrick's Church on:
Teletubbies, Cailliou, Sponge Bob and Bob The Builder songs for first class to sing along to and learn for the concert.
The Ceremony of Light for 6th Class will take place on Wednesday 15th March at 7.45pm in St. Patrick's Church.
The Trocaire Boxes will be collected from the school on the morning of Wednesday 5th April. Please do not bring in boxes before this date as there will be nowhere to store them. Any boxes that come in after this date can be brought to St. Patrick's Church.
This years Book Fair will arrive in the school on this Friday (3rd March). All students will get an opportunity to view and purchase the books over the coming week. The Book Fair will be open to parents on Monday night and Tuesday night from 7.00pm - 8.30pm.
