Lately we have been thinking of ideas for our J.E.P., first everyone had an idea then we made it 12 then 6 for each class. On the 12th of December the man who owns Halo Cafe, Matt Black, came in to talk to us and he was really inspiring and gave us some great information. A couple of days later we had our Dragons Den and the four of us competed to win the J.E.P. But the overall winner was Stephen and Kyle who were doing customized cups. They wrapped the cups in cellophane and they were the overall winners for Ms Holmes class. We had some great dragons like Ms. Fleming,John Keegan(Academy barber owner),Alex(Baobab cafe owner) and Ms Smith. They asked some great questions like 'how much profit does it make' and 'how long does it take to make your product'.
We held our annual jumble sale for St.Vincent de Paul.It was on Thursday15th of December. We got lots of donations of toys , books , games and cakes from the pupils. We had stalls for toys, books and cakes we also had many different stalls, inc. Golf putting,Penalty Shoot-out, Target Games,Art stall and much more. This year we had our first ever Games Room. There was Xbox's, board games and pool/foosball tables. We also had the cinema which along with the Games Room was a great success. We also had a massive raffle with prizes such as a: hamper of books, signed Johnny Sexton poster and much much more.
It was a great day for all classes and we ended up raising: 2341.11 EURO!
On the 20th of December Scoil Na Mainistreach had their annual Christmas Carol Service. Every class sang a carol in front of the whole school. 6th Class sang a song called In The Bleak Midwinter not boasting or anything but I think we were the best. Some of the 6th Class helped out Mr. Mescal do some harmony which turned out pretty good!!! Johnny Griffin, Adam Quayle and Michael Murphy read out the story of Christmas.
Overall it was a great Christmas Carol Service!!!!!!
