Dear Parents/Guardians,
Can I start by wishing everyone a Happy New Year and I hope you all had a relaxing Christmas and enjoyed the break. As we start back to school it is not the start any of us were thinking about. But we fully understand why the government has taken the decision and that the most important thing we do now is to keep everyone safe. Work will now move online. We will be using Seesaw. Classes have been engaged with Seesaw since the start of the year and were engaged with a range of activities using this platform. Teacher will assign work on Monday. You will get daily communication in relation to the work set for that day. You will also get daily feedback. Class teachers and resource teachers have been planning together to support children who attend resource. The work is there as a support and will help give structure to the day. As always let your child engage with the work but never let it become a cause of frustration. It is strange doing school work at home, away from usual support of teachers and friends. If they don’t get all the work done, that is fine. Every family has their own unique set of circumstances. Remember that you can email the class teacher in relation to any issue. This communication is essential in supporting a child’s learning. We all know that children love routine. The best advice I can offer is to have a daily routine in your house. You all know the importance of getting up and dressed, eating well and exercise. In school we would always have some form of movement breaks during the day. It is important that each child engages as best they can with the work as this supports the continuity of learning. For those of you who are old enough to remember the Mars ad, children need to “work, rest and play”. The enrolment process will continue as normal. It is due to start on Monday the 11th. Applications can be emailed, posted or hand delivered. There will be a box just inside the front door of the school. They can be hand delivered between 10am and 1pm each day. The enrolment period will last for 4 weeks and closes on the 5th of February. t-2021.html I will be in contact next week. Take care and have a lovely weekend, Matthew Heffernan.
