This is a Catholic co-educational school under the patronage of the Archdiocese of Dublin.  It is managed by a Board of Management, elected according to the Procedures agreed by the partners in education.  The school has a Catholic ethos and this ethos is a guiding principle in the formulation and implementation of all school policies.  This ethos recognises the value and dignity of each pupil and all those working in the school community and aims at promoting the full and harmonious development of all pupils.This ethos also respects the cultural and religious values of all the pupils attending the school.

Vision
The aims of Primary Education are stated as follows:

  • to enable the child to live a full life as a child;
  • to equip the child to avail of further education so that he may go on to live a full and useful life as an adult in society.
The vision of this school is to create an atmosphere where every child can attain these aims and where every staff member can continue to develop personally and professionally in order to deliver a standard of excellence which will enable the pupils to achieve these aims.

Scoil na Mainistreach is funded by grants and resources provided by the Department of Education and Science and operates within the guidelines laid down by the Department from time to time.  Funds are also raised by the school itself.  This school must have regard to the resources and funding available when implementing its policies and programmes.

Within the context of the regulations and programmes of the D.E.S. the rights of the patron and the resources available, Scoil na Mainistreach supports the principles of:
